Frequently Asked Questions
What type of dance styles will you teach?
Our ballroom dance lessons cover a wide variety of ballroom and Latin styles including waltz, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, salsa, rumba, cha cha, samba, and more. We can also teach swing, hustle, and country-western styles for students interested in exploring different dance genres.
What is your teaching approach?
We focus on lead and follow techniques, posture, musicality, and footwork patterns in a fun, supportive environment. Students will receive personalized coaching and hands-on practice time with instructors. Each lesson builds skills progressively so dancers gain confidence. We accommodate both beginner and advanced students.
What should I wear to dance class?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move is ideal for lessons. Lightweight pants or shorts and shirts that aren’t too loose work well. Shoes should have a leather or suede sole — sandals, boots, and sneakers can make turning difficult. Dance shoes are not required but make footwork easier.
Do I need a partner for group classes?
No partner is required. We rotate partners so you can meet new people. Private lessons are tailored to individual, partner, or wedding party needs. Taking lessons without a partner is a great way to improve before dancing socially.
How much do lessons cost?
Private lessons are $70 per hour. Group classes are $15 per person for a 1.5 hour session. Discounted class packages are available. We offer reasonable rates and work with different budgets, so never hesitate to inquire!
How often should I take lessons?
Ideally 1–2 times per week for an hour at a time to build muscle memory and retain skills. Consistency is key, so we recommend setting a regular schedule if possible. Private lessons may progress faster with individual attention. Let your goals and availability guide what works best.
What if I miss a class?
No problem! We offer make-up classes or refunds for any missed private lessons with advance notice. Just contact us to schedule a replacement session or credit. Students can also do a drop-in make-up class if needed. Life happens and we’re flexible!
